Announcing Baby

If you are looking for a unique way to announce you are expecting on Facebook or Instagram here are some tips:

1.) Make sure to tell your inner circle first-- your mom or your BFF should not find out you are pregnant via social media. Tell those closest to you in person or over the phone before announcing to the world.

2.) Consider your timing-- although you will be excited and want to share with the world you may want to consider waiting until after the first trimester when the risk of a miscarriage is highest.

3) Incorporate you & your partner's interests. If you like to bake, go with a "bun in the oven" theme. If you and your partner both ski, bike... whatever.. place the adult skis (or bikes) next to each other with a child's version beside it. If you like to travel, place two suitcases next to a smaller one with "Getting ready for our next adventure!"

4.) If you have other children or pets, incorporate them into the announcement.

5.) If you're announcement falls near a holiday or event such as the World Series or Superbowl, incorporate this into your announcement. My first trimester was over in October, so when we were ready to announce we decided to go with the Halloween themed announcement below

6.) Make sure to end with "Baby Smith Due in April!" so it will leave no question on what you are announcing.
